Knowing the Siamese Cat
Siamese cats, as its name indicates, were bred for the first time in Siam, what we now know as Thailand. The curious history of Thailand, one of the few Asian territories that were never a British colony, is reflected somehow in the personality of this cat. Thailand, terms that give rise to the current name can be translated as “Land of the free people” and that is what the Siamese cat is free and independent.
The Siamese cat loves his home. He suffers a lot when you have to move, perhaps more than other breeds of cats. Consider your home as their refuge, and rarely venture out except to woo a female in heat, or meet other neighborhood cats. His education is very simple; they are very intelligent and quickly learn the rules of behavior. However, when something is not to your liking, have no problem let them know their owners. Like other breeds of cats, the Siamese cats love to sleep all day. The peak hours are sunrise and sunset. So if the idea is getting a weekend afternoon, it is necessary to provide that the animal has food and water on hand, and enough room to move and play and sandbox hand.
There are two sub Siamese cat breeds well distinguished: the Siamese cat modern hair rather short, easily distinguishable by their features stylized, a rather prominent nose and large eyes, torn. This breed was introduced to England in 1880, and ten years later, was taken to the United States. Soon, the modern Siamese cat became the preferred exhibitors and breeders for their stylish lines. The other sub Siamese cat breed is the Siamese traditional, distinctly different factions, much more rounded. The coat color pattern is very distinctive: they often have the tips of the limbs, tail and face very dark color, while the rest of the coat is light in color, a characteristic that gives it such a special personality all Siamese cats have. The Siamese cat is very curious and playful, and is always exploring when something caught his attention. Undoubtedly, this feline race has become one of the most sought after by lovers of pets because of their charm and personality.
Cat Hygiene
The cats are clean by nature, and one of the reasons why the cat is a domestic animal and pet most popular is its high degree of hygiene. For his personality a bit obsessive about the little things that are out of your routine, the cat does not stand having stains or dirt on their fur, and one of the gestures more representatives of the cats is licking and combing your hair to match it and clean it. If the cat is inside, is an activity that will take much of the day.
Having cats in the house or an apartment is very simple. It all depends on the personality of the cat and their socialization, as a well-socialized cat will adapt very easily to the home life and contact with humans. Another aspect to assess when receiving a cat at home, is to ensure that no family member is allergic, bearing in mind that allergies are caused by an enzyme present in cat saliva, so even hairless cats can cause allergy.
Many people wonder whether or not to bathe your cat. The answer depends on each individual animal. For most cats bathing is a kind of torture, not so much water, which does not tend to like too, but by restriction of movement imposed forced a bath. However, if the animal is accustomed puppy, it is counterproductive to a bath every three months or in specific cases when necessary, but should take some precautions. First, the water temperature should be pleasant to the touch, not too cold or too hot, as if it were to bathe a baby.
The same applies to room temperature. It is necessary that the bath is carried out in a well-conditioned, heated and free from drafts, because cats are very susceptible to colds. Furthermore, it is necessary to use special products for cats because they do not tolerate either the products for humans and may be a risk of poisoning. In addition, we should never use products for dogs or other not specifically indicated for cats, because the consequences can be serious.
The cat will quickly get used to relieve themselves in a litter specially prepared for this purpose, with sand or pebbles, which can be bought in any shop or veterinary clinic. Frequent cleaning of the tray will prevent odors in the air to expand. Once the cat learns where his “bathroom” never mess other corners. And to do so, you must be very careful because it can be a symptom of disease.
