Short Hair Cat Breeds

There are lots of breeds of cats with short hair and long hair, however, short-haired feline pet is by far the most common type of domestic and wild cat. The main reason is that short hair genes are dominant over long hair, besides being more practical and useful for long hair. The short-haired domestic cat has been around for millennia, yet the known pedigree breeds do not arise in the Western world until the late nineteenth century in Britain.

Breed cats with short hair can be divided into three basic types: British, American and Foreign Shorthair.

• Short hair is easy to clean.

• It is easier to clean.
